A distinct mango and pineapple aroma
The first taste of the Ridge's 2020 Sauvignon Blanc is very citrus-like and full, with high acidity. It goes down like tropical citrus, while being grounded as a robust sauvignon blanc. Caramel and vanilla tones follow with tinges of grapefruit.
The staff at the winery told me this summer that many customers came in specifically to ask for it. This sauvignon blanc is made in a New Zealand style with strong tropical overtones.

In addition to the great wine, cuisine and view, the winery restaurant at Peninsula Ridge Estate Winery is classy and visually stunning. All of these things together can make you totally relax.
You gaze up at their vineyard rows, and see a red brick fairytale house at the top of a hill that's charming, complete with white gables in a colonial style.
Then you're at the top of the hill and walk around the front of the house to enter the inviting patio. Across the vineyards and houses below, you can see Lake Ontario and Toronto in the distance.
Once you're seated at their outdoor restaurant, you notice the different sections of the estate you can take in as you sip on their delicious Riesling, Chardonnay, Shiraz or Rose.
Beautiful landscaping enhances the exceptional experience
The colorful landscaping on the winery property is stupendous. A huge tree towers over the patio, a fruit orchard sits off to the side, rows of grapevines line each graceful slope of hill surrounding you.
A tiny rock-lined pond is full of water lilies and a small statue that welcomes guests in. To the side of the retail store is another umbrella-filled patio where wine-lovers can sample the Ridge's grand selection or enjoy wine by the glass.
