Great Niagara wines are a combination of a winemaker's vision and technique, the land, and what each diverse terrain and sub-terrain across the Niagara Peninsula produces. Every Niagara winery has a unique personality, and every year brings new versions of the best Niagara wine.

There are some truly great wine experts out there who write about the best Niagara vintages. But my take is a little different. As I use my WSET 2 knowledge to evaluate a wine's balance,  I'm noticing the smaller things: what kind of vibe a winery has; how the Niagara River, Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment affect its products; how a vineyard's vista makes you feel.; how the staff treat you. I grew up in this area and can't get enough of experiencing many different Niagara wineries  - and I only write about the ones that were absolutely fantastic to visit.
